Katherine Low Settlement has been a multi-purpose community and social action centre since 1924 dedicated to fighting the effects of poverty and isolation.
Active citizenship and community spirit are at the heart of all we do. We strive to provide an opportunity for people to realise their own potential and the contribution they can make to their community, whether with their peers or in the many aspects of our intergenerational work.
We aim to respond proactively to local needs and issues, encouraging and supporting self advocacy so that people can participate in and run their own groups to meet these needs. We also enable members to take an interest in and volunteer with other aspects of our work thereby building a strong sense of community and mutual support.
