Is this too good to be true?! You really can save money! We’re having a special week of workshops and drop-in sessions run by experts all here at Katherine Low Settlement, open to anyone to come to and all free. Please come long and help us spread the word about the week by sharing this with your friends.
These sessions are for you if you’d like to learn how to budget better and manage your money, if you are struggling financially, or would like to find out if you’re getting the right benefits, or learn how to save money on your water and electricity bills. So, it is for everyone! We also have a special Brexit workshop run by a lawyer.
Thanks to all the experts who are offering these specially designed workshops and drop-in sessions.
Drop-in Advice sessions to talk about your individual situation are on Tuesday from 12 – 1pm and Wednesday from 2 – 5pm on job hunting and CV writing and on money and debt issues; and Thursday from 3pm – 5pm with Citizens Advice Wandsworth. If you need to wait to be seen you can have free tea or coffee in our café.
Do come along to a drop-in session for advice on issues like: rent arrears, Council Tax arrears, service charges arrears, utilities arrears, bank loans, credit cards, store cards, pay day loans, overdrafts, disputing any other debts, managing your money.
Tuesday 30th May
11am – 12pm – How to save money on you energy and water bills, led by fuelbanks and families
5.30pm – 7.30pm – Brexit special! EU nationals, a lawyer from Lambeth Law Centre will be advising on EU national? Worried about Brexit? Want advice on applying for residency for you, your partner or children? This workshop is for EEA migrants on what a right to reside is and how you acquire permanent residency and apply for a permanent residence card.
Wednesday 31st May
2pm – 4pm – Better budgeting (part 1): what benefits are you entitled to? We’ll have computers here for you to find out how to look into your benefits and how Universal Credit will affect you – with expert help from the South West London Law Centre.
Thursday 1st June
10am – 12pm – Bring your financial paperwork and we can help to get it sorted into folders and files – lots of materials will be provided
2pm – 4pm – Better budgeting (part 2): how to prioritise your bills, manage your money better and save money on your shopping and bills
Friday 2nd June
10am – 11.30am – Saving money, better budgeting and debt advice run by the Wandsworth Debt Advice Service based at St Marks Church.
We could all do with a bit better at managing our money, and we know lots of people have money worries and don’t know who to get advice from. Please come along to any of the free events, or just drop in and pick up literature and advice that we’ll have on display.
