Wandsworth Local Area SEND Strategy Consultation

Please complete this consultation survey to help improve SEND services for local children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities:

Wandsworth Local Area is consulting with residents and professionals about our plans to strengthen support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as part of our ambition to continue improving outcomes for children and young people who live and access education in our local area. The Local Area is a partnership between Wandsworth Council and health colleagues, South West London NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

Following a Local Area SEND inspection in November 2019, two areas of improvement were identified. A priority from this has been to form a vision, strategy and governance structure to promote and deliver improved outcomes for children and young people with SEND. This will provide guidance and direction to ensure our children with SEND are everyone’s priority, with partners working together to make sure their needs are met in a timely, smart way.

The survey, split into two parts one for adults and one Easy Read version for all including children, sets out five outcomes along with six themed subgroups to deliver these outcomes. The strategy aims to ensure our aspirations are high for children and young people with SEND, ensuring that they can reach their full potential.

Spread the word

Please can you help us reach as many children and young people as possible by sharing the survey with them over the next four weeks. This could be sending out the link in any emails, creating a social media post which shares the link, or taking 10minutes in any face to face session (perhaps this is still virtual) to explain and ask children and young people to complete the survey.

Survey

The survey is online and can be accessed HERE, and the Easy Read version HERE.  Please complete it by Thursday 5th November 2020.
