WoWMums at the Lion King

Women of Wandsworth, WoWMums, are a group of mothers from Battersea who are trying to educate and entertain their children by broadening their perspectives on life in multicultural and international spirit and yet teach them about importance of their community as well.

WoWMums is an all inclusive group that organises a weekly forum to discuss issues that matter to us, campaigns for a better life for us and our children, and arranges activities for mutual benefit. We’re a community funded group, with no state funding.

In addition to our family support with regular Parent Forums every Monday and regular Coffee mornings every Friday, we have also launched the W.O.W Work Club in June 2011, to support parents looking for work. The Wow Work Clubs, run in partnership with the Wandsworth Job Centre and meet on the last Friday every month in the KLS cafe.

Fundraising

WoWMums have fundraised for KLS. In 2011, we raised money during the Battersea
High Street Christmas Party, Battersea Square Winter and Summer Fairs and had fun during the Royal Wedding Street Party in Battersea. One of our WoW Mums, Caroline Farrar swam 1 mile in the Great London Swim and managed to fundraise more than £300 for KLS.
