Join our Tech-Together sessions

The Elders Team at Katherine Low Settlement have set up a new group to help older people learn about digital technology, computers and smart phones.

Tech-Together is a friendly group for anybody who wants to get the most from their smart phone and/or tablet. The sessions are held on Thursday afternoons at 2.00-4.00pm. We will cover a number of subjects over the coming weeks including:

  • Smart phone/tablet basics – getting to know your phone.
  • Communicating – Messaging services, email and video calling.
  • Managing information – internet, apps, storage.
  • Paying for things online – Shopping, banking and how to stay safe.
  • Problem solving – how your phone can help you.

Everyone is welcome no matter what level of skill. The idea is we all help each other to work things out.

You will need to bring a smartphone or tablet. We also have a few tablets available for those who don’t yet have a device but want to learn.

We will also be offering 1 to 1 sessions for those in need of a bit of extra help. Our tech-up team members can also visit you if you have specific tech needs at home or are unable to attend the centre.

Tech-Together sessions run on a Thursday 2.00-4.00pm

Volunteers needed

We are currently looking for more volunteers to help with this project. If you have some spare time in the week to support our digital inclusion activities, please do get in touch.

You don’t have to be a tech expert, patience and good communication skills are much more important!

Training and expenses provided.
