Moving T’ai Chi online

Hamid (pictured above) has been using our community rooms to teach T’ai Chi for more than 11 years. Oh how time flies. Here he explains what he’s been up to during the lockdown…

“I have been teaching T’ai Chi under “South London Taichi” in Katherine Low Settlement under many projects since 2009.  Cancelling our classes this March, due to Coronavirus, disappointed many of my seniors and other students in both KLS and Upper Norwood Library.

I am happy to say that to date I have run 19 online classes in the past 8-9 weeks.  These classes are going strong on Monday at 2.30pm for beginners and Thursdays at 5.00pm for advanced students.  They have all missed the face to face contact. But have been very happy to feel part of the T’ai Chi community, by joining others online at a particular time each week. This has made a lot of people happy and feel less isolated during these difficult times.

If you’d like to join then you need to have access to WhatsApp for communication purposes, and also have access to a computer with an internet connection.

You can email me, call or text me (details below). I am quick to respond. Alternative, without getting too technical, you can put my mobile number with prefix 0044 and add it to your contact list. Then find me on whatsApp. You can send me a message through WhatsApp and we can take it from there. I hope you can join me moving online.”
