Happy New Year!
It’s lovely to be back after the Christmas break. We needed the rest, as frankly, so many of the team were tired, having given their all throughout the year. It’s humbling and inspiring to see so many of our staff, volunteers and supporters going above and beyond to help local people through the pandemic.
We had an eventful run up to Christmas. With small group parties, carol singing, gifts galore and more. I’d like to express our thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, supporters, donors, tinsel decorators, present wrappers, cooks, card sellers, mascot wearers, singers and staff who made this Christmas such a special one for so many in Battersea.
Looking ahead to 2022, our next 5-year strategy will be launched later in the year. We’re looking for new Trustees to join our Board. We’re starting to plan for our 100th Birthday in 2024. We’re incorporating digital further into our community services. We’re attempting to take 6 million steps in our Spring Steps challenge (11-18th March) register here. And that’s just the start of it. We hope you’ll join us as the year unfolds.
New year, new resolutions. Have you thought about volunteering or fundraising for us? You can find out about all the possibilities from Tough Mudder, to bike rides, birthday fundraisers, to reselling pre-loved clothes, getting your business involved or simply signing up for Gift Aid. Whatever you choose, we’d love you to be more involved. Do get in touch.
