ESOL

KLS ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is an educational and extracurricular programme for newly arrived adults looking to improve their English or learn English for the first time.
We also offer Maths and a wide range of extracurricular activities. All our courses are free and fit with school hours and terms: we have a free creche.
Most students who commit to their courses and attend regularly can achieve nationally recognised qualifications at the end of the academic year. All classes are taught by qualified teachers and supported by volunteer teaching assistants.

If you are interested in studying ESOL with us, please come into reception and sign up to our waiting list. We will then contact you. All courses start in September and run for an academic year.

ESOL Courses

We offer English courses for complete beginners as well as more experienced learners for a total of four hours per week.

Maths Classes

We also have Maths and IT courses (each two hours a week) for those that are studying on our English courses.

Creche

While attending our ESOL Programme, there is a free creche for children aged 4 months to 4 years old to help you enjoy the classes.

Sewing Class

Among our many extracurricular activities we offer a sewing class to make bags, aprons, trousers and more. All levels welcome.

Volunteer for the ESOL Programme

Volunteering with ESOL you will quickly find yourself becoming part of the family. We provide training, support and a DBS check. We ask that you commit to volunteering for at least 1 year. We recruit our teaching volunteers to start in September – October and prefer you to commit to an academic year as this helps the class group to bond. Discover London is a great way to volunteer in the ESOL programme without teaching experience, enabling our students to see a different part of London whilst practising their English skills informally outside of a classroom environment.
