Spring Steps for KLS – update (day 5)

Day 5 of Spring Steps! A huge thank you to all our supporters, staff and volunteers who have been pounding the parks, pavements, fields and footpaths, day and night, to accumulate an amazing 855,526 steps for KLS. With 3 days to go we are aiming to smash our target of 1,000,000 steps!

So far the Battersea Coronavirus Angels have completed 535,953 steps and raised over £1,800 for our work. Manon a pupil at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square has raised £650 for us by walking 10,000 steps with her dog Sinta. Libby, who’s in Dorset, is aiming to walk thousands of steps every day this week, despite having been on crutches until very recently; and Filsan is actually walking on crutches after a nasty knee injury. Sarah is walking every day in Wales. Our elders are doing steps at home in their exercise classes and Francis Holland School are stepping for KLS in PE! Our young people from our Love to Learn team will be doing their steps at Homework Club. How are you getting on? We’d love to hear.

Fiona is smashing her target she told us, “I thought I would share the good news. Today, by separating my walks into 4 parts, I have managed 8,194 steps. Not much for most people but the furthest I have managed this month. I didn’t suffer at all, which I have been doing since I had a major relapse of my MS at the end of January. Perhaps it’s all getting better and I will be able to exceed 10,000 steps in a day again.”
