Safeguarding

Katherine Low Settlement (KLS) is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk, and to creating a safe environment across all our services and premises. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we take all reasonable steps to prevent harm, promote safe practice and respond appropriately when concerns arise.

We are committed to an inclusive safeguarding culture where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Our staff, volunteers and trustees have clear responsibilities for recognising, reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns, and we work with statutory and specialist agencies where required.

Our Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy and Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policy set out our safeguarding commitments, responsibilities and governance arrangements.

This policy was agreed by KLS Trustees on 1 st July 2026. This policy is reviewed annually, or earlier if the law, statutory guidance, organisational learning or safeguarding practice requires it, and will be reviewed again in April 2027. The April 2027 review date reflects KLS’s planned governance cycle.
