As the US President arrives in the UK today for a visit, we had one from Francis Holland School last friday. This is our ‘special relationship’. They are one of our co-founders from 1924, and have supported us ever since. This is the school where Katherine Low herself went more than 140 years ago!!!.
They visited last week to make our centre all Christmassy and festive! Out came the tinsel, the Christmas trees and baubles. Here’s what happened:
“On Friday morning six Year 7 girls visited to deliver almost 100 Christmas presents kindly provided and wrapped by the Senior School Parents Association (SSPA) for young (and old) members of the community.
While there, they got to meet Mr Aaron Barbour, who runs KLS and gave them a brief history of the Settlement and answered their questions. The girls also (with some parental help) managed to decorate the entire settlement with lights, tinsel, and even some Christmas geese (who knew?).
Girls were so amazed to find out about the special relationship that FHS has with KLS and are looking forward to developing it further in the years to come.
We are hugely grateful that the SSPA and Year 7 parents so kindly donated their time and money to this initiative, particularly to Mrs Jo Hamlyn who masterminded the event this year.”
Thank You!
A BIG Thank You to everyone at Francis Holland School (Sloane Square) who generously donated and wrapped the presents; and the girls, parents and teachers who decorated our centre with such festive cheer.
