Aaron’s update

I hope you’re well and have had a good summer. I wanted to write and give you a quick update about what’s going on at KLS at the moment.

Thanks to many of our supporters we had an amazing summer. Our young people had an action packed August; as did our elders. We got them outside and active: playing lots of sport, as well as art, cooking and trips to Brighton. We’ll be sharing a report in the next couple of weeks.

The situation in Afghanistan caught everyone by surprise. We’ve been working closely with our families, local MP and the Home Office to support people to get out. Please sign this petition.

Earlier this month there was a fantastic ‘Thank You’ Angels event for everyone who volunteered with Battersea Coronavirus Angels. And we welcomed new colleagues Emily and Adalberto to the KLS team.

We’re now looking ahead to the autumn. We’re trying to run as much face-to-face work as we can, whilst retaining some of our virtual support. Our partnership work continues apace. We also developing a new 5-year strategy that we’d love your help with. I’ll be in touch about this.

Join our upcoming events

Do join our 98th AGM online on Wednesday 6th October, 6pm. It will be streamed online via YouTube, as we try to keep our most vulnerable members safe.

We’re co-hosting another ‘Battersea Together’ event on 8th October, with our Battersea Alliance partners. About 100+ local residents and community organisations will be there so do join in the conversation. Get your free tickets here.

And finally, we’re organising a number of smaller KLS get-together events, over the coming weeks. It will be a great opportunity to catch up with you over a cuppa! You can come along to all or just one. Let me know on [email protected]
