We are excited to launch our 2.6 Challenge Appeal.
Sunday 26th April was the day the Virgin Money London Marathon was supposed to take place, with tens of thousands of participants set to run just over 26 miles through the heart of the British capital. But then coronavirus swept across the world and the marathon was postponed. Undeterred, the organisers decided to set up The 2.6 Challenge.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1 – Brainstorm your ideas
Think of a sponsored activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 that you can complete on Sunday 26th April or the days that follow. You can see some suggestions HERE – let your imagination run wild, it can be silly, in fancy dress, with your dog or a whole family effort. Something as simple as a 2.6K walk, skipping for 2.6 minutes or 26 star jumps to a danceathon, climbing a mountain on your stairs or holding a virtual circus!
Step 2 – Set up a fundraising page
Set up a Virgin Money Giving page HERE, KLS are registered on the Virgin Money Giving Platform.
Step 3 – Seek donations
Invite your friends and family to donate.
Step 4 – Just do it!
On Sunday 26th April do your chosen activity. Lockdown means you will need to do this at home, or during your hour’s daily exercise providing you can do so safely and within government guidelines.
Send us your photos
Don’t forget to send us photos of your sponsored event!
The funds will come straight to KLS, with Gift Aid where appropriate and with no platform fees, so we can carry on our vital work helping vulnerable and isolated Battersea residents through the current crisis and beyond.
Have fun and let us know how you get on!
