Katherine Low Settlement was opened on 17^th May 1924 by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of York who later became Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. As the Duchess arrived there was much excitement with crowds thronging around her car and Battersea High Street was full to bursting point.
